Wednesday pix

Aussie book 2, spied by [info]gregvaneekhout at Barnes and Noble in La Mesa, CA.
I'm surrounded by Lois McMaster Bujold and Elizabeth Moon. Woo hoo! I love this job.

Steve, Doris, Al, Me & Mom, at the booksigning last weekend: Yes, I often wear red at signings. I don't know why.

Grant, who is not nearly is as small as he looks here, playing with one of his favorite toys, a pipecleaner.
He looks innocent here, but he is the most demanding and mischevious cat I've ever met. My little devil.

1) Congrats on the new book being out. My copy from SFBC just arrived two days ago!

2) I bet my Pixel could give your Grant a run for his money. >^..^< What say you to a kitty cultural exchange?

Yay for SFBC! I have not seen the book club edition. If it's like the edition of book 1, it's slightly smaller and has a glossier cover than the regular hardcover.

Omg is there's any cat out there more devlish than Grant, then you should win an award! Right now he's being very quiet, but I don't trust quiet anymore than I trust bouncing-off-the-walls . . . :-)

It's so cool to be at one. Though in general, I get very nervous and unhappy in the hours just beforehand, and miserable during them if there's no one to talk to :-(

I think I'd be a nervous wreck if I was ever in that situation. Hopefully they'll become easier for you with time. :)

They will get easier when I start bringing Jensen Ackles with me! He can run interference with my legions of fan by smiling charmingly at them. And taking his shirt off.

Btw did you know Stan Kirsch turns 40 this year? Our little Richie!!

It's amazing. How can Stan be 40 when I'm only 35?

Wow. If I ever find myself on the same shelf with LMB, I may have to lie down right there on the bookstore floor.

It is a surreal and wonderful experience :-) The first time I saw her, she was accepting the Hugo at the Orlando Worldcon (92? 93?) and there I am beside her now! (What a long strange trip it's been...)

I've been looking for book 2 and ended up ordering it from B&N. I told Elliot Bay bookstore they had issues for not stockin git, when they had your first book available in paperback!

I meant to tell you, I loaned book 1 to a JO serving on a nuculer sub here in Washington. He enjoyed the story very much and wondered why you picked the Australian Navy to use in your AU. I said I'd ask. *grin* He's looking forward to me sharing book two, but it's hardback, so I might wait and buy the paperback when it comes out. (I don't share well with others. eh eh eh)
