To celebrate Diana's birth, here's a 3 minute movie about 117 great women writers, editors and publishers in the field of science fiction and fantasy. We've got ladies in there from the pioneers of the 1930's to the Campbell winners of the 2000's. It's fast, fun and informative (I hope), and it was a lot of fun to put together.
You can also download your own free pdf of
75 Years of Fabulous Women, A Periodic Table and pin it to the wall for inspiration, like mine is.
Please spread the word - the movie and periodic table are meant to be starting points for conversations in our field - conversations about forgotten legends, excellent stories, and gender inequality. Also, I'm open to suggestions for the next version :-) I hope you enjoy this.

Secondly, I have a "suggestion for the next version". I'm sure you can't possibly pelase everyone, but I was surprised not to see Tricia Sullivan in there. She's published six critically acclaimed SF novels, and between them those books have garnered multiple BSFA, British Fantasy Society, John W. Campbell, and multiple Clarke nominations (which she actually won for Dreaming in Smoke. Oh! And she has also made the Tiptree shortlist.
Tricia is the Real Deal when it comes to Fabulous Female SF authors. :)

I love the periodic table though it seems to have mutated into a meme without context (I've tried to correct that and post links to the original).
I'm interested in learning more about how you came to create it, so will read back over your entries.

Ditto. (The meme is also being discussed on alt.polyamory on Usenet/Google Groups.)
